Frequently Asked Questions

I am a private-pay provider and do not bill insurance directly. However, I can provide you with a superbill—a detailed receipt of services—that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement as an out-of-network provider. I encourage you to check with your insurance plan to see what benefits they offer for out-of-network mental health care. Choosing private pay allows us to work together without the limitations often imposed by insurance, ensuring care that is personalized, private, and flexible.

What are your fees?
My practice is private pay. Fees vary based on the type and length of appointment and reflect the time, training, and level of care involved. They are consistent with other private psychiatry practices in California. Please get in touch here for my current rates. -

The assessment phase consists of 1-3 sessions, each lasting about 50 minutes. During this time, I’ll take a thorough and thoughtful look at your personal history, current symptoms, and overall mental health. I may also incorporate validated psychometric tools to help us gather a comprehensive understanding of your needs. This process gives us a solid foundation to develop a treatment plan that is tailored specifically for you. Read more on this here.

The frequency of follow-up appointments depends on your needs. For most people, follow-ups are typically once a month to monitor progress and make adjustments if needed. However, when starting a new medication, adjusting dosages, or navigating a period of increased symptoms, we may meet more frequently—sometimes every 1-2 weeks—to ensure you’re feeling supported and making steady progress. Together, we’ll determine a rhythm that feels right for you.

At this time, I see patients exclusively through telehealth rather than in person. All visits take place over a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. Because I’m licensed to practice medicine in California, I can only see patients who are physically located in California at the time of their appointment.

While I do not currently provide individual therapy, I have extensive training in various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), and psychodynamic approaches. I can make well-informed recommendations for therapy that best suits your needs and collaborate closely with your therapist to ensure a comprehensive, integrated approach to your care.
