Dr. Nick Welsh, board-certified adult and child psychiatrist providing telepsychiatry throughout California.

About me

I am a double board-certified psychiatrist in Adult Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. I work with children, teens, and adults, providing care that reflects each person’s developmental stage and unique needs. My background in treating patients across the lifespan gives me a nuanced understanding of the complex dynamics that shape mental health and well-being.

I also have extensive experience working with LGBTQ+ and gender-diverse youth, as well as neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder. My approach is affirming, collaborative, and developmentally informed.

My approach

I believe in a person-centered, strengths-based approach to psychiatric care. Entering into a dialogue, we will develop a plan that reflects your goals, whether that includes medication, therapy, or both.

Over the course of my career, I have worked in a variety of settings, including adult and pediatric inpatient units, medical hospitals, emergency departments, long-term residential care, retirement homes, intensive outpatient programs (IOPs), and correctional settings. These experiences taught me that the human connection lies at the heart of good care.
