Website Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 11, 2026
About this policy
This Website Privacy Policy explains how Nick Welsh Psychiatric Services (“NWPS”) handles information associated with use of this website and the prospective-patient inquiry pathway linked from it.
This policy is separate from the HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, which describes how NWPS may use and disclose protected health information in connection with health care. The Notice of Privacy Practices is available separately on this website.
Information processed when you visit
This website is hosted by Squarespace. NWPS does not use a Squarespace contact form, newsletter signup form, or patient-inquiry form.
When you visit the website, Squarespace automatically processes technical and usage information associated with the visit. Depending on your browser and device, this may include:
your IP address;
browser, network, and device information;
pages viewed and the page or service that referred you to the website;
timestamps and interactions with the website; and
approximate geographic information derived from an IP address.
Squarespace uses information such as this to run and secure the website and to protect and improve its own platform and services, as described in Squarespace’s Privacy Policy.
NWPS uses Squarespace’s built-in analytics to review summary information about website traffic, such as pageviews, traffic sources, browser or device categories, and approximate geography. NWPS has disabled Squarespace’s Activity Log, so NWPS does not have access through that feature to the detailed per-visit IP-address history it would otherwise display.
Cookies and tracking
Squarespace uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to operate and secure the website. NWPS has configured Squarespace to restrict non-essential cookies. Squarespace’s built-in analytics can continue to operate in a more limited and less accurate manner when those cookies are restricted.
On the NWPS Squarespace website, NWPS does not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, the Meta/Facebook Pixel, advertising or retargeting technologies, session-replay tools, heatmaps, or a chat widget.
NWPS does not collect information about visitors’ activities over time across unrelated websites or use this website for behavioral advertising. Squarespace and Google receive technical information when they provide website and font services, as described in this policy, and handle that information under their own privacy practices. Because NWPS does not operate cross-site tracking on this website, there is no NWPS-operated cross-site tracking for a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal to turn off.
Google fonts
This website uses Google Fonts through Squarespace to display its text. When a font loads, Google may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser, network or device information, and information about the website or page requesting the font.
Contacting NWPS through SimplePractice
The website’s Contact link opens a contact form hosted by SimplePractice, the practice-management service used by NWPS. Information entered into that form is submitted to NWPS through SimplePractice; it is not submitted through a Squarespace contact form.
A prospective-patient inquiry may include identifying and contact information, basic demographic information, and information about why someone is seeking care. NWPS uses that information to respond to the inquiry and consider whether its services may be appropriate.
Information submitted through that pathway is handled as part of NWPS’s prospective-patient workflow and, where applicable, under health privacy law and NWPS’s HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices. SimplePractice processes information for NWPS under the agreements governing NWPS’s use of that service, including a Business Associate Agreement where HIPAA applies.
SimplePractice also collects technical information on its own pages, such as IP address and device information, as described in its applicable privacy notices.
Third-party services and external websites
NWPS uses service providers to operate this website and its prospective-patient inquiry process, including services for website hosting, security, analytics, font delivery, practice management, and email.
This website may also link to websites or services operated by other organizations. Those organizations control their own websites and privacy practices. NWPS is not responsible for the privacy practices of an external website simply because this website links to it.
Security
NWPS uses reasonable safeguards for information it receives. No method of transmitting or storing information over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Changes to this policy
If NWPS materially changes this Website Privacy Policy, the revised policy will be posted on this website and the effective date above will be updated.
